Crape Myrtle Project
This project is to give the Crape Myrtles a more even shape as well as give the tree a chance to grow back with a natural look. Cutting a Crape Myrtle at the limb -ESPECIALLY severe "topping"- causes the tree to produce numerous weak, thin, and spindly shoots from the cut site. This practice, often called "Crape murder," results in ugly, knobby, and diseased vulnerable to pests, and less capable of holding heaving blooms.
